Nursing Skills Training for Nurses from Equatorial Guinea |
On January, 2006, a group of 40 nurses from Equatorial Guinea participated in a Nursing Skills training course at MSR, the Israel Center for Medical Simulation.
The nurses practiced hands-on procedures on specialized task-training and physiological mannequins. The course included skills such as IV catheterization, urinary catheterization, medication preparation and administration, pharmacological calculations, and how to care for an intubated and ventilated patient. Emphasis was on nursing assessment needs, manual skills, and patient safety. The training in MSR was delivered by Spanish speaking RNs from the Sheba Medical Center, under the guidance of the MSR team.
