Simulation-based Cataract (Phaco) Surgery

Target Audience: Ophthalmologist who are interested in Phaco cataract surgery. Objectives: The objective of this course is to improve technical and clinical skills required in Phaco surgery, to discuss the different aspects related to Phaco surgery, and improve preparedness for emergency situations in the ER.

Course Description: Participants practice surgical skills required in Phaco surgeries on different eye simulators, Kitaro eye, Gulden eye and Pig eye. The course also includes hand-on training of sedation and resuscitation in emergency situation in the ER.  The course which is the first of its kind in Israel is a collaboration of The Israel Association of Ophthalmology and MSR. The course is supported by Lapidot medical-the representative of Alcon in Israel.
