Train the Trainer in Communication with Adolescents

Simulated-patient-based programs are recognized as an effective educational modality for bridging the gap between theoretical learning and hands on experiential training using simulated patients.
MSR, the Israel Center for Medical Simulation, in collaboration with the Israel Society of Adolescent Medicine, offers healthcare providers who teach adolescent medicine the opportunity to enhance their teaching capabilities of communication skills with adolescent patients.

Workshop Description
During the workshop trainees will learn how to enhance their teaching capabilities by using simulated patient-based training programs. Trainees will also participate in individual and group sessions simulating various encounters between healthcare providers, adolescent patients and family members.
Workshop Objectives
- Developing simulated-patient-based programs
- Preparing scenarios
- Selecting and training actors
- Facilitating debriefing discussions and feedback provision
- Conducting group sessions in the Fishbowl technique
Upon completion of the workshop each participant will receive a package containing workshop materials including recorded scenarios as well as a formal certificate of participation in the Train-the-Trainer workshop.
