Advanced Surgical Skills
Target Population:
Second year trainees (general surgery, gynecology, urology).
Objectives:
To improve basic and teach advanced manual technical skills in open and laparoscopic surgery.
Course Description:
Participants practice advanced surgical skills on different surgical simulators and task trainers. These include anastomosis techniques (hand sawn and stapled) in open and laparoscopic surgery, and procedures in upper and lower GI surgery. The simulation is video recorded for debriefing and feedback.
