Nursing Care in Pediatric Rehabilitation

Target Population:
Pediatric nurses working with pediatric patients in long term rehabilitation from illness and trauma.

Objectives:
The course focuses on nursing skills and procedures, needed for working with pediatric patients in a rehabilitation setting.

Course Description:
Participants interact with and treat pediatric patient simulators in simulations of real-life situations such as different treatment options for a pediatric patient with a tracheostomy.  Instructors observe the scenarios and audiovisual recordings are made for the debriefing sessions.  On completion of the encounter, the participants receive feedback from the instructor, colleagues and simulators.
