Basic Skills in The Operating Room

Target Population: Operating room nurses. Objectives: To become familiar with setting up the operating room, preparing the patient for surgery, the instruments used in the endoscopic operating rooms, familiarization with preparation of the instruments and common problems with light source and audio-visual equipment. Likewise special difficulties encountered during the cleaning of the surgical equipment, pros and cons of different modes of sterilization and team work: proper assistance to the surgeon in various endoscopic procedures. Course Description: One day course includes oral and video sessions, practical demonstrations and "hands on" experience in small groups. Participants who demonstrate the knowledge and practical skills to assist laparoscopic surgery will receive a certificate of successful completion.  This course is held in collaboration with the Israel Training Endoscopy Center.
