Community Care for Nursing Practitioners

Target Population: Community care nurse practitioners Objectives: The course specializes in advanced nursing skills and procedures required for managing patients in their homes, including: the management of central venous access, and urinary catheters and gastrostomy tubes; administration of antibiotics; demonstration of various airway and oxygen adjuncts; identification of methods for airway control and optimum ventilation; and CPR. Course Description: Cases are presented in small group teaching stations using task trainers and full-body patient simulators.
