Management of Ventilated Patients

Target Population:
Nurse practitioners who manage mechanically ventilated patients.

Objectives:
By course completion, participants are expected to demonstrate the correct method to clear foreign body airway obstructions, including the use of deep tracheal suction; identify methods for airway control and use various airway and oxygen adjuncts; demonstrate optimum manual and mechanical ventilation; and demonstrate one and two-rescuer CPR.

Course Description:
Cases are presented in small group teaching stations using task trainers and full-body patient simulators.
