Emergency Management for Nurse Practitioners

Target Population: Nurse practitioners
Objectives: The course focuses on nursing skills required to manage acute life threatening emergencies, including the ability to recognize the signs and symptoms of a hemodynamically unstable patient; demonstration of various airway and oxygen adjuncts; identification of methods for airway control and optimum ventilation; CPR; and precautions and proper use of electrical therapy devices including AED and external pacemaker.
Course Description: Cases are presented in small group teaching stations using task trainers and full-body patient simulators. |
