Trauma Management

Target Population: Military and tactical medical teams Objectives: This course focuses on the clinical aspects of managing and treating trauma victims.  The training includes identifying the nature and severity of injury, demonstrating the use of various airway and oxygen adjuncts; identifying methods for airway control and optimum ventilation; and the provision of effective and orderly treatment, team work and the organization of and familiarity with equipment. Course Description: Cases are presented in small group teaching stations using task trainers and full-body patient simulators.  Training culminates in simulations using advanced audio-visual equipment to create realistic 'battlefield-like' environments complete with shooting and helicopter sound effects and smoke.
