Preparation for the USMLE Step 2 Clinical Skills (CS) Exam

Target Population:
Medical school graduates wishing to enter an ECFMG-accredited residency or fellowship program in the United States

Objectives:
The objective of this course is to improve the communication and clinical skills required in preparing for the CS exam.

Course Description:
Participants improve communication and clinical skills during encounters with simulated patients (actors).  Scenarios focus on clinical assessment, informed consent, patient safety management; and how to deliver bad news.  Colleagues and debriefing facilitators observe the encounters through one-way glass panels, and audiovisual recordings are made for the debriefing sessions.  Upon completion of the encounter, the participant receives feedback from the simulated patient, colleagues and debriefing facilitators.  The participants watch the recorded encounter and discuss the process in the debriefing session.
