Pre-Hospital Care

Target Audience:
Police and Israel Prison Service (IPS) Paramedics, First responders, Paramedics

Objectives:
The course, held in conjunction with Israel's HMO's and the Police Department, focuses on the treatment of emergency situations in the community. Participants improve technical and clinical skills using task trainers, full-body simulators and simulated patients (actors). The participants train in realistic scenarios relating to multiple casualties in a terror attack.  The treatment of head and chest injuries receives additional emphasis.

Course Description:
Cases are presented in small group teaching stations. The teams alternate between participation in, and viewing of realistic medical scenarios complete with sound effects and decor. A customized audiovisual system and one-way glass enable real-time observation of the scenarios. Viewing of the recorded material allows effective debriefing and constructive feedback to trainees.
