About the Test
- Graduates of medical schools outside the US and Canada must have a valid ECFMG Certificate to enter US residency and fellowship programs
- To gain ECFMG Certification, medical school graduates must pass the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 2 Clinical Skills (Step 2 CS) exam
- The Step 2 CS exam uses simulated patients to assess the ability of candidates to gather information from patients, perform physical examinations, and communicate their findings to patients and colleagues

About the Course

Dr. Sheryl Shoham is a family physician trained in Canada, and a Medical Educator at the Tel Aviv University Sackler School of Medicine. She served as an Examiner for the Medical Council of Canada, which uses simulated patient examinations similar to the Step 2 CS exam for licensure of all medical school graduates. Dr. Shoham has 5 years experience running practice clinical skills assessment examinations for the Tel-Aviv University American Medical Student Program. So far, all graduates from this program have successfully passed the Step 2 CS exam.

Dr. Dafna Meitar, is a pediatric oncologist and palliative care specialist, who trained in the United States. She is very involved in the development and delivery of communication skills programs, and the training of simulated patients at MSR. Dr. Meitar works with both Israeli and American medical school students to develop their communication skills. |
